Resident Evil has you running around for dear life inside a mansion populated
by zombies, hellhounds, and the like. You have to rescue other crew members,
kill zombies, solve puzzles, and escape the house safely. The game features
a fixed camera in every room, a huge mansion to explore, plenty of puzzle
items and keys, and a lot of zombies to blow away.

Resident Evil, known in Japan as Biohazard is a survival horror video game by Capcom.
The inaugural title and first installment in the Resident Evil series, it
was originally released in 1996 for the Sony PlayStation and has subsequently
been ported to the Sega Saturn and PC.

In 2002, a remake of the game was released for the Nintendo GameCube featuring
new graphics, voice acting and many significant gameplay changes. A Nintendo
DS port of the original was released in early 2006 as Resident Evil: Deadly Silence.

It was the first game to be dubbed a “survival horror,” borrowing
from the “ambient survival horror” genre coined by Alone in the Dark.Accordingly,
Game Informer refers to “the original Resident Evil” as “one of the most important
games of all time.”The inspiration for Resident Evil was the earlier Capcom
game Sweet Home. Shinji Mikami was initially commissioned to make a horror game
set in a haunted mansion like Sweet Home.

Reception

The PlayStation game was a best seller in North America. The game received
mixed reviews from critics. For example, GameSpot praised the game while
Computer Gaming World gave a more mixed review for the PC version (in which
the violence was unedited, see below) in explaining that they “tried to hate it
with its graphic violence, rampant sexism, poor voice acting and use of every
horror cliché however…it’s actually fun.” In total, according to Capcom’s
Investor Relations website, the original Resident Evil has sold 2,750,000 units.

The GameCube remake of Resident Evil has managed to sell 1,250,000 units
in total. GameSpot said about the remake: “Capcom has nearly perfected
its craft and created the best Resident Evil ever” And IGN mentioned at
the time that the remake was “The prettiest, most atmospheric and all-around
scariest game we’ve ever played”

Cast

Main characters

Resident Evil has the player take control of either Chris Redfield or Jill
Valentine. There are differences in abilities, items and supporting characters,
resulting in a unique scenario for each character. Successive Resident Evil
titles utilized a similar template, including a male and female lead in each
release with few exceptions.

* Chris Redfield – The male protagonist. He is stronger than Jill, making
him more resistant to
enemy attacks. He can carry six items and starts with a knife. He needs
“Small Keys” to unlock doors where Jill can simply use her lock pick. Chris’s
  supporting character is Rebecca Chambers, who
will render primarily passive assistance to the player.

* Jill Valentine – The female protagonist. Jill’s scenario is the easier of
the two, as she has a higher carrying capacity and a lock pick. Jill’s
supporting character is Barry Burton, who will render primarily
offensive assistance to the player. Despite her great capacity for holding
items, she is physically weaker, and slower, than Chris.

General Features:

Skillfully rendered polygon characters mixed with stunning, pre-rendered
backgrounds. Engaging cinematography and relentless pacing.

Notes

   * The idea of using zombies as enemies came from George A. Romero’s
Living Dead movie series. Earlier ideas for the game proposed paranormal
enemies instead of living creatures.

   * Barry’s line, “Here’s a lockpick. It might be handy if you, the master
of unlocking, take it with you.” was named the worst game line ever in
the January 2002 issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly. A document that can
be found about Jill in Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles, states how
she earned the “awkward nickname” of “The Master of Unlocking”.

Vista and GF7xxx graphics not supported.

Installation Notes:

1). Unpack the archive (WinRAR)
2). Burn ISO Image (game does’t work with virtual devices)
3). Insert burned CD (manually start with checker.exe)

a). first you will see short error message (but don’t afraid it’s normal)
   after that red setup menu will appear, choose your graphic (Creative
   3D Blaster Rendition for my config)
b). install all CD content with speeches of course
c). when program ask you about DirecX 3.0 be sure to click NO
   (DirectX 9.0 required)

4). now you can play (remember, CD must be in device every time you want
   to play this game).

Raccoon City has somehow fallen victim to a zombie outbreak and it’s up to you as
either police officer Leon Kennedy, or Claire Redfield (sister to Chris Redfield
from RE1), to find out what’s going on. The adventure, which takes place in 3D using
pre-rendered backgrounds, drags you through spooky crash sites, abandoned buildings,
experiments gone wrong and more — all the while battling undead monstrosities,
solving puzzles and, most of all, trying to stay alive. Lots of weapons and other
gadgetry allow for some truly disgusting mayhem. RE2 for Dreamcast is exactly the
PlayStation game of the same name, just in a higher resolution display mode.

4). **Set compatibility mode for Windows 95**

Right click then choose “explore”
on cd 1, locate the file RESEDENTEVIL2 (the eye icon) and right click on it. Choose “preferences” and then click the compatibility tab.
Then click “Run in compatibility mode for” and selected “Windows 95″ Click “execute/ok”

You must do this compatibility modification on a total of 4! different files:
- RESIDENTEVIL2 x 2 (located in for example E: and F One cd for Claire and one for Leon!

- On each cd there is then one more file (located in the folder “REGIST”) which you must also change compatibility for.
These file names are: CLAIREP and LEONP.

5). Right click and drag the file CLAIREP or LEONP, located in REGIST folder on CD1 and CD2 to your desktop and then choose:
“create shortcut here”. make sure that the shortcut has the correct compatibility settings! (it should have by default)

4). PLAY!! (remember, CD must be in device every time you want
   to play IF YOU BURNT THE GAME TO CD!!).

The fearsome superzombie Nemesis is on your trail and intent on sending you to

Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, released in Japan as Biohazard 3: Last Escape
is a survival horror video game and the third installment in the Resident
Evil series developed and published by Capcom. The game was released for the
Sony PlayStation, and was subsequently ported to the Sega Dreamcast, PC and
Nintendo GameCube. Resident Evil 3 was the last core title in the series to
be released for the Playstation.

The first half of the game occurs 24 hours prior to Resident Evil 2 and the
second half takes place two days after. The storyline expands upon the
settings and events of the T-Virus outbreak in Raccoon City,
and concludes with the fate of the city and its infected population.

The game’s storyline was later used as the basis for the 2004 film Resident
Evil: Apocalypse.

Plot

The player takes control of former STARS member Jill Valentine in her
attempt to escape a ruined and zombie-infested Raccoon City. During her
escape, she encounters three surviving members of the Umbrella Biohazard
Countermeasure Service, Carlos Oliveira, Mikhail Victor and Nicholai Ginovaef.
Mikhail sacrifices himself to save Jill from the Nemesis, a bio-organic weapon,
and Jill escapes with Carlos.

The city’s fate is resolved in the game’s finale. The US government, after
hearing of unsuccessful efforts to avert the T-Virus infestation, orders
the destruction of Raccoon City. At this point in the game, the player has
exactly fifteen minutes to escape the city before the missile strikes.

While not as commercially successful as its predecessor, Resident
Evil 3 received rave reviews. GameSpot said: “Unlike other series that
offer incremental ‘improvements’, the RE lineup continues to refine an
already excellent premise”IGN critic Doug Perry praised the game, saying:
“The story still wonderfully unfolds in an intensely slow, intriguing way,
and the combination of the great story telling and precise style of gameplay
is still perfectly blended”.Dale Weir from Game Critics called it “the best
Resident Evil game in the entire series”.As of March 2008, Resident Evil 3
has sold 3.5 million copies worldwide.

Music

The original 2-disc soundtrack CD for Nemesis was composed by Masami
Ueda & Saori Maeda, and was released on September 22, 1999.

turn and the side-step, branching story paths, swarms of undead to battle,
challenging puzzles to solve, and a bonus Time Attack mode.
